Back On Crack | The Cracked Tiles Documentary

In the mid 1990's Mr. Ball managed a band called The Cracked Tiles. Thanks to his Certificate III in Business (Administration) and his superior intuitive powers, Mr. Ball acquired the rights to their album 'Hi-Vis Factory'. Due to various circumstances, which Mr. Ball would rather not comment on, the album was never released. As a last ditch attempt to make some money he is now releasing it after 25-30 years, no one seems to be sure on the maths for some reason. Probably because we don't know when it will actually come out.

Bodyguard

Speaking upon the release of ‘Bodyguard’, Black Dahlia said: “Bodyguard is a theatrical exploration of gaining a new body but your soul remains. It is a sonnet to your past physical body in this realm and the new union that will inevitably be formed. A harsh and gentle celebration of your capabilities, your limits, and your destiny.” As well as being the Director for the music video, Black Dahlia was also Producer, Art Director, Choreographer, and Concept creator for the project. Donning various characters, Black Dahlia embodies performance art and its mediums such as contortion, mime, surrealism, Dada, the avant-garde, and body horror. ‘Bodyguard’ follows Black Dahlia in various theatrical forms and her journey to transformation through reanimation that looks reminiscent of a John Waters film. It also features cameos from Melbourne-based artists, Bura Bura as Dr Barget Hower, Manda Wolf as Dr Avanti and Cong Josie as Dr Cong.

Bluebottle Kiss: Never Leave Town - Live in Sydney

Bluebottle Kiss were formed in Sydney in 1993, a turbulent time in the Australian independent music scene.  They sound only like themselves: A strikingly volatile unit bringing forth sweetness and ferocity, conjuring tales of personal vulnerability and a kind of warped Australiana. After releasing multiple albums and EPs, they parted ways in 2007. In 2022, the ‘Revenge is Slow’ (2002) line-up of Bluebottle Kiss announced a run of 5 reunion shows across Australia.  These were astonishing performances, transcending the entire concept of reformation. Film maker Ben deHoedt shot the band’s hometown gig in Sydney, resulting in the film (and accompanying live album) Bluebottle Kiss: Never Leave Town – Live in Sydney. Made on the fly with minimal equipment, this unadorned yet cinematic live document captures the rich hues, rough edges, vulnerability and vitality of Bluebottle Kiss as they perform some of their most accomplished material to a packed house over a 90 minute set.
