On her first day, she has a fateful encounter with a handsome boy named Takumi, who shares the same name as the main character in a manga she is writing, just like in a manga. Takumi quickly enters the shy Haruka's mind and talks about his dreams. Haruka finds herself becoming more and more attracted to him. This is her first time in love. However, just as she seems to be at the peak of happiness, Haruka's brain tumor recurs. Despite her despair, Haruka does not curse her fate, but chooses to “live” even at the risk of being left disabled.

Rinka Sugita is a key member of an ad agency’s marketing department. As she races back and forth between photo shoots and meetings, the shy presence of Takashi Urita catches her attention. Hired as a person with disabilities because he has an anxiety disorder, Rinka offers to take him under her wing. It initially seems to him that she takes pity on his situation, but another side to her personality emerges as they slowly get to know each other.
