The Minerva docks at a ZAFT base, where they are met by Chairman Durandal. Over a quiet dinner, he talks with Athrun, Shinn and other members of the crew. This conversation leads Shinn to reflect on the past, and the events that brought them to where they are now. But understanding does not bring peace, and after another argument with some of his shipmates, Shinn heads ashore to clear his head. There he meets a beautiful girl, and watches her fall into the ocean. He dives in to rescue her, and in turn then must wait to be rescued. Meanwhile, the Alliance Forces gather, along with their Orb Allies, to launch an attack on ZAFT. The Minerva scrambles and prepares for battle. But unknown to either side, far beneath the waves, another group is going to try to put an end to the fighting.

A young boy finds a robot dog in a forest under a pile of garbage. The two become close and spend time playing, fishing, and biking together as the seasons change. As the boy matures and, during a fireworks display, his city starts getting bombed.

Much to Yuuta's surprise, Rikka cannot hear Gridman, nor can she see the ominous monsters looming over a thick fog as it envelopes the town outside. Another giant monster materializes in the city and proceeds to wreak havoc. Amidst the confusion, Yuuta is once again drawn to the old computer and merges with Gridman. Suddenly, he appears in the middle of the battle and is forced to fight the monster. Together with Rikka and fellow classmate Shou Utsumi, Yuuta forms the "Gridman Alliance" to defeat the monsters plaguing the city and find whoever is responsible for their emergence.

The story takes place during a summer of continuous sunshine when water supply restrictions are issued in the city. Shunsaku Iwakiri works for the city's water department and his job is to visit homes and stores that are behind on their bills and either collect the money or shut off the water supply (water suspension enforcement). Shunsaku is separated from his wife and children, and his heart grows thirsty as he spends his days visiting poor households and being abhorred. One day, during a water shutoff, Shunsaku meets two young sisters who have been neglected. He sees them as his own children and offers them a helping hand.

All he wants is to be able to live a relaxed and happy life in the 'Old Residential District' with his grandmother. However, something strange is beginning to happen - something that not only threatens Aoba's peaceful days, but all of Midorijima.

Summer 1978. High schooler Kurita is inspired by Star Wars, and films a spaceship scene on a 8mm camera together with his friend Ozawa. When the class is discussing a project for their school festival, Kurita's suggestion to make an SF movie ends up winning. Together with their movie fan classmate Sasaki, the boys start to plan a movie and manage to convince Yamashita, the prettiest girl in class, to star as the heroine. Over the summer vacation, the four shoot their movie, "Time Reverse", where an alien spaceship arrives on Earth to turn back time in order to save mankind from itself.

In 2017, a short anime film called Hypersonic Music Club was produced in Japan. It was directed and written by Osamu Kobayashi, a veteran of the industry who passed away in April 2021. For various reasons, this short anime was never released. It was made public on August 1, 2023.
