The feature directorial debut of Jiang Wenjie, cinematographer and editor of Keep Rolling, explores the inner lives of three female Hong Kong writers: Hon Lai-chu, Lee Wai-yi, and Human Ip. Though their styles and thematic concerns differ considerably, the film shows that their literary works are all informed by their immediate surroundings, whether that be a childhood home, the streets of Sham Shui Po, or the cattle and woods near Lai Chi Wo village. Time may inevitably erode everything in this city, but these writers continue to tell their hometown's stories in their own unique ways.

Shifting his lens from Cantonese opera to Japanese Noh drama, documentary filmmaker Cheuk Cheung continues his exploration of complex gender issues ingrained in traditional theatres. For seven centuries, only the male body has been granted the privilege to inhabit this highly stylised art form that embraces spirituality in subtle movements. The film traces the journey of third-generation Noh performer Uzawa Hikaru, a young woman who makes her presence in the male-dominated space; yet behind the mask lies a daughter yearning to seek a resolution beyond her mother’s path – a quest to fuse body and soul in pursuit of the profoundly mysterious aesthetic.

During the turmoil of 2019 Hong Kong, before pursuing his studies in Taiwan, the director was abruptly frozen in the present by a message from his father. As Hong Kong entered a pandemic lockdown, the director, now in Taiwan, began to Skype call his father, unpacking his traumatic memories and their entangled hearts.

Fragmented coastal scenes scattered across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area: a security guard on duty at a Shenzhen beach, a woman posing for bridal photos along the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade, children playing in the shallows beneath a bridge, the transparent glass interior of the M+ Museum, the rooftop of Sky100, the upper reaches of the Pearl River, and the waterfront of Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, among others. Most of these filming locations were chosen from lists of photogenic sites popular on Xiaohongshu (RedNotes), i.e. places that have become “internet-famous” through a single viral post, attracting waves of photographers and tourists. Yet the artist deliberately diverges from these original images, turning away from the sharply defined details and edges of these celebrated sites. Instead, the camera retreats into marginalized zones at the limits of visibility, areas suffused with blinding halos of light.

After years of silence, the director and his friends return to fragments of a youth shaped by imprisonment, scars and dreams. Lingering with fading images and fragile memories, they together build a space where unspeakable collective traumas can exist and be held.

This short documentary depicts the experience of Selina Cheung, the producer of “The Road Runners' Spring” (2025), who began working part-time as a delivery walker during the film production. It explores the unique features of three food delivery platforms in Hong Kong and examines which urban landscapes are suitable for these walkers.

Where Comes Mulan follows artist and filmmaker Tianyi Zheng as she returns to her ancestral village in Huangpi, Wuhan, where the legendary figure of Mulan is said to have originated. Beginning with intimate conversations with relatives and local residents, the film traces how Mulan has been remembered or forgotten in everyday life, only to collide with how local authorities have transformed her image into a powerful tourism brand. Through walks across tourist sites and abandoned ruins, Zheng questions the gap between lived memory and official narrative.
