After being freed from a Vietnamese war prison, French Lt. Col. Pierre Raspeguy is sent to help quell resistance forces in Algeria. With the help of the Capt. สิงหาคม ค.ศ. 1966 ในสวนยางของเวียดนามที่เรียกว่าลองเทียน ทหารหนุ่มของออสเตรเลียและนิวซีแลนด์ที่ไร้ประสบการณ์จำนวน 108 นายต้องต่อสู้เพื่อเอาชีวิตรอดกับทหารเวียดนามเหนือและเวียดกงที่มีจำนวนถึง 2500 นาย!!!
